My name is Jonathan, I am twenty-one years old. I count myself among the fortunate kids saved by the Asanti Project. I am presently enrolled in the University of Eldoret (UoE) in Kenya for my third year of higher education. I am excited for my last year of studies in 2022, when I will receive a Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics with Computing.
How it all began: My father, a young graduate with young family, unexpectedly died in a car accident when I was five years old.
In light of my father's passing, my mother was diagnosed with severe depression upon admission to a psychiatric clinic. We were completely abandoned and left to fend for ourselves in the space of a single day.
Asanti Project's first (1st) home, Sega, welcomed us with boundless, unconditional love. Our group was the project's initial set of orphan children. For my brother Job and me, this was a chance that would change our lives; we now have a place to call home and a bright future is within reach.
After receiving intensive tuition to build a stronger foundation, I was accepted into a local primary school in class three (3). I completed my primary school education with a very high passing grade, allowing me to continue my education for four more years in high school.
As one of the top students in my class, I received an exceptional pass mark of B+ (Plus) in high school, which allowed me to be admitted to a Kenya Government University.
I am delighted with the Asanti Project's close support and consistent follow-up. I sincerely appreciate you being there to guide me as I have developed into an informed, responsible citizen.
I now have a bright future ahead of me and am looking forward to finishing my coursework.
